Introduction

Students will be successful when they feel secure and happy at school. We expect all members of our school community to show respect and consideration for one another at all times.

Our expectations of and for our students are extremely high. At St James' we are firmly committed to individual excellence, ensuring that all students, irrespective of their ability, fulfil their potential. We are, justifiably, proud of the many success and achievements of our community. We continually strive to ensure that everyone  feels safe, valued and welcome.

  • Wide ranging support from teachers, teaching assistants, peers, junior leaders and sixth form mentors contributes to students feeling safe, supported and gives them the confidence to flourish.
  • Students are energetic and enthusiastic about helping those less fortunate than themselves whether it be close to him or further afield.
  • Fundraising is a core part of school life and our students do all they can to support a wide range of worthy causes. We also show our commitment to the community by opening the school to the public for a range of activities. In addition, our students and staff regularly share their talents with other local schools to support festibals and leadership initiatives.
  • Parents are actively encouraged to their expertise with the school for the benefit of our students and to become involved in the life of the school through the Friends of St James (FOST)
