PSHE Curriculum

Our PSHE curriculum is founded on several pillars. If you are interested in learning more about our programme, please email admin@st-james.barnet.sch.uk for the attention of Mr Joe Langtry (Head of PSHE).

Catholic Church and Diocese of Westminster – We are a Catholic School and fully support the teachings of the Catholic Church and guidance provided by the Diocese of Westminster.

PSHE Association – We are a member of the PSHE Association - the leading national body for PSHE guidance, training and guidance.

Staff Voice – Our staff give feedback on PSHE lessons and wider trends around the school, both from a pastoral and social perspective. This ensures our PSHE offering is up to date with school trends.

Student Voice – Pupil feedback is passed from the student body through the House Council. Pupils are encouraged to offer their thoughts, particularly through inspiration on what captures attention and interest through what they see, hear and read about on social media. Recent examples include the inclusion of first aid lessons for Year 12 pupils provided by the Red Cross and a suite of Year 8 lessons about safety on social media.
