Job overview
An exciting opportunity has arisen to appoint a highly motivated professional as a Lead Invigilator at St James' Catholic High School, for an immediate start. This is a non-teaching role; the successful candidate will report directly to the Exams Officer.
The role includes an extensive range of responsibilities requiring a broad set of skills as well as enthusiasm and resilience. Applicants must have exceptional organisational skills and the ability to multi-task. They must be personable, approachable, responsive, flexible and accommodating and should be able to work well with frequent disruptions. Previous experience is desirable, however training can be provided for candidates demonstrating the required skills.
Interested candidates will need to work well as part of a team and must be able to work autonomously. Challenges and opportunities will appear on a daily basis, so applicants must be able to think on their feet, whilst following strict procedures and tight timescales within a highly confidential environment. The role will sometimes require you to work outside of contracted hours to attend meetings, respond to emergency situations etc and you must be willing and flexible enough to take on this aspect of the job.
St James’ welcomes applications from colleagues from all backgrounds. Visits to the school ahead of application are warmly welcomed - please contact the Head's PA. Berni Rock, if you would like to arrange a visit.
Applications to be submitted to: brock@st-james.barnet.sch.uk.
Closing date: Noon, Wednesday 21 February 2024
Interviews commence: w/c 26 February 2024
The school is committed to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children and young people and expects all staff and volunteers to share this commitment. The successful applicant will be required to undergo an enhanced DBS check.
